Free Event - Taking (bank) notes: Pay Parity in the Cultural Sector
How can we emerge as a stronger cultural community from the pandemic? How can we ensure creative freelancers recover with greater financial security and organisations support that recovery? Organisations often offer day rates for creative freelance work, but do we have a shared understanding of what these day rates need to cover for creative freelancers in order that they can have a sustainable career? In this interactive session The Uncultured (Ashleigh Bowmott + Laura Sweeney) will share provocations and useful information on how we could shift the balance of pay disparity between arts and cultural sector freelance day rates and salaries. The first hour of the session will be open to both organisations and freelancers, the second part of the session will be exclusively for freelancers. The event will be BSL interpreted and zoom transcription will be in place. If you are a freelancer on a low income please enquire about our £50 bursaries. Only a few places left, please book here
