We can do none of this without connections to and dialogue with our local schools. Your input is vital to our development. This year we will look to direct our activity to those schools who agree to support our values and ambitions. As such we would ask that to show your schools desire to engage in the network by following the link or returning the attached survey, to indicate to us your current situation and how we can best work with you on your plans and challenges.
We look forward to hearing from you and working with you in the coming year.
All the best from the HRAEN team.
HRAEN seeks to:
- work with children, young people, artists, cultural and education organisations to strengthen links between great cultural provision and great learning opportunities.
- advance the knowledge, skills, confidence and capabilities of children and young people to allow them to grow into active culturally engaged citizens.
- develop children and young people’s mental, physical and moral wellbeing through arts and culture.
- increase opportunities for all children and young people in Hastings, Rother and the surrounding area to participate fully in arts and culture.
- ensure a strong commitment to equality, inclusion and diversity is embedded throughout our practices and programmes.
We aim to achieve the above guided by our professional values, namely:
- Excellence: ensure our offer to schools and young people is always of the highest value.
- Engagement: make culture a part of children and young people lives, accessible and relevant to all.
- Opportunity: focus activity on those with limited access to arts and culture, ensuring all young people can benefit from cultural education.
- Diversity: embrace social differences and value everyone’s contribution.
- Professional development; inspire confidence in our teachers, supporting them in their ideas and plans.
- Partnerships: maximise impact and reach through partnerships using the variety of skills found locally.
