Saturday 1 September
4pm - after sunset

#1066MusicCity

Multi-award-winning hip-hop DJ and producer, DJ Yoda will perform outside the De La Warr Pavilion for a unique event to launch the new Debut programme created by #1066MusicCity. This is your chance to support emerging, fresh local bands while enjoying one of the top DJs in the country. At sunset he will start his stunning pioneering AV set with visuals being projected on the south wall of the Pavilion. Not to be missed!

"Pay what you can" tickets
Suggested £4 - £11
(all funds go to supporting local bands).

DJ Yoda is a multi-award-winning hip-hop DJ and producer, headlining festivals and clubs around the  world. No typical club DJ, his interests lie in finding fresh and unique ways to bring turntables out of the club and getting involved in bespoke collaborations. Working with classical composers to neuroscientists; brass bands to film directors; Dr Dre to Dame Evelyn Glennie; Banksy to Mark Ronson; BBC Radio4 to the BFI, he reinvigorates his craft with wry invention and humorous intent.

Debut is a new annual programme that supports emerging musicians from the local area to offer them performance and development opportunities, including local studio time to record a track.

Year one kicked off in August with workshops for five artists Sam Brown, Blue Lily, Crumbs on The Bloody Carpet, Phonetic and Sports Casual. Each artist will support DJ Yoda, get the chance to record a song in Curve Pusher Studios over autumn and finally have the opportunity to perform at Under the Radar as Part of Hastings Fat Tuesday Music Festival in March 2019.

Line up for the day
4.30pm - Sam Brown
5.15pm - Blue Lily
6pm - Crumbs On The Bloody Carpet
6.45pm - Phonetic
7.30pm - Sports Casual
8.30pm - DJ Yoda
10pm - Finish

Local craft beer brewers, the Brewing Brothers will also be onsite bringing a selection of beers brewed from their brewhouse to the terrace throughout the event
The project has been devised by the Hastings & Rother Music City partnership and supported by Rother District Council, Hastings Borough Council, De La Warr Pavilion Charitable Trust, The Joe Strummer Foundation and Rhythmix.

Year one also sees Un-Convention’s relaunch in the area on the morning of the 1 September at De La Warr Pavilion: a session aimed at the grass-roots of the industry and brings together artists and practitioners to share knowledge and expertise.

Combined ticket for DJ YODA and Un-Convention will get you £1 off.
