We are delighted that pupils from our local schools are taking part in a new professional music production with Barefoot Opera, a company driven by the power of music to inspire and connect us all.
Their new 'people's opera' - BLOOM BRITANNIA - will be unlike any opera you know, and tells the story of one extraordinary day in the life of a seaside town. With a live band, it brings together all kinds of musical influences and promises to be full of surprises. We hope you will come along to support our students who will be singing alongside a professional cast and more than a hundred singers from across the generations here in Hastings and St. Leonards. Three performances will take place from 22-24 October at St. Mary in the Castle. Tickets from £12 + (£5 for children under 12) from www.barefootopera.com or from Hastings Tourist Office (now located next to Hastings Station.) If you'd like to invite friends and family, please do share the link to the Facebook event: https://fb.me/e/1CcRKyTGS. We hope to see you there!

Bloom Britannia is all about flowers, colors, and nature. In fact, it all started with a photo I took of my daughter on a sunny day with the colors of sunset in the background. I was instantly inspired by that beautiful scene and decided to create an app so people could enjoy their own perfect moment with flowers.

The Bloom Britannia is a small cafe chain that has two locations in the United Kingdom. The first location was opened in London in May 2016, followed by another in Manchester city centre in November 2016. The concept of The Bloom Britannia is to combine an adorable motif with a selection of drinks, snacks and food suitable for a family audience.

Bloom Britannia is a beautiful and innovative initiative that celebrates the beauty of British flora and encourages people to connect with nature. This project not only highlights the diverse range of plants and flowers that can be found across the UK, but also promotes sustainable living and environmental awareness. By encouraging people to explore their local green spaces and learn about the native flora and fauna, Bloom Britannia is helping to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the important role it plays in our lives. It is an inspiring project that reminds us of the beauty and wonder of the world around us.

Bloom Britannia is a phrase that has been used to describe the flourishing of British gardening and horticulture, particularly during the Victorian era. During this time, gardening became a popular hobby and a symbol of social status and cultural refinement. The trend towards gardening and landscape design continued throughout the 20th century, with Britain producing some of the world's most influential garden designers, such as Gertrude Jekyll and Capability Brown. Today, the legacy of Bloom Britannia can be seen in the country's many beautiful gardens, public parks, and stately homes, which attract visitors from all over the world.
