We are pleased to announce that applications to audition for our Youth Opera: Pay the Piper are now open! A full chorus of local young people will premiere the show at Glyndebourne in February 2022. Pay the Piper is based on the story of The Pied Piper of Hamelin and is a collaborative piece written by our four Balancing the Score composers. Successful auditionees will perform as a chorus in the show, alongside professional singers and the Psappha ensemble to bring the show to life. Working with top opera professionals, rehearsals begin this summer and will include stagecraft, choreography and of course singing, to make sure they are ready for the performance of a lifetime. The auditions will be held face to face, in small COVID safe groups at venues across Sussex. Audition dates and venues are on our website now - click through below for full details and to apply now. A great opportunity for everyone to take part in opera auditions. I have waited for it the whole year and am now glad to know that their auditions are open. Hope that I am going to learn and more enough through this content and activity.

If you’re a fan of opera, then maybe you would like to try out for the Glyndebourne Youth Opera Competition. The British Royal Opera Company has an incredibly strong reputation for putting on fantastic productions, and they have taken it upon themselves to ensure that the young artists are also given the opportunity to enjoy themselves.

The Glyndebourne Youth Opera Auditions are the annual spring season of musical and vocal training, competition and community building for young musicians from all parts of the world. Beginning in early February, participants aged between 12 and 19 are invited to take part in a yearly transformative experience designed to provide them with a profound musical education spanning three different areas: vocal, instrumental and operatic performance.
