Dear Teachers!
Hastings Storytelling Festival is here again! WORKSHOPS We have a couple of spaces left for our very exciting very free school workshop making carnival costumes with our artist in residence from HSF...Sarah Evans. Workshops are available from Monday 30th October until Thursday 9th November. They take about 1.5-2 hours. This year we are celebrating India and it's 70 year anniversary of independence. We will be making headdresses and hand held pompoms shakers for the children to wear and shake at this year's children's parade on Sunday 12th November. It's going to be a glorious celebration with several amazing carnival bands to accompany the parade. We will also have visiting carnival companies joining us with their sparkly Indian themed creations. We would love to timetable you in for a free workshop. Please let me know asap if you would like to be part of this year's carnival. I feel sad that I was not able to attend this workshop. I love telling stories to kids because it develops the children’s abstract mind and their logical thinking. Researches found out that having a storytelling session before children go to bed enhances their brain activity the next day. It’s good that not only teachers are interested in this kind of thing. Parents should also try this at home not just as a way to enhance the mind of their children but it will also serve as their bonding time together.
